Transform your existing Omniscan into a 3D sonar by adding the Omniscan 3D Upgrade Kit—compatible with the Omniscan 450 SS, SS-BB (BlueBoat), Omniscan FS, and Omniscan Compact.
The Omniscan 3D by Cerulean Sonar is an advanced underwater imaging system that bridges the gap between side-scan sonar and multibeam echo sounders. Operating at 450 kHz, it utilizes a 16-channel receive array to calculate vertical angles for every target, generating high-resolution 3D point clouds in real time.
Unlock 3D capabilities on your Omniscan with the Omniscan 3D Upgrade Kit.
Real-Time 3D Vision Underwater
The Omniscan 3D Upgrade Kit introduces a new level of underwater perception to your Omniscan sonar, delivering dense, real-time 3D point cloud imaging in a compact, modular sonar system—at an unprecedented price point.
Designed for inspection, mapping, and navigation, it enables operators and autonomous platforms to understand complex underwater environments with clarity and precision—even in zero-visibility conditions. Built on Cerulean’s proven Omniscan technology, the system combines high-resolution imaging with intuitive operation, transforming how underwater data is captured and interpreted.
Available with native support for BlueOS-based vehicles, or for advanced integrators with sufficient technical expertise to configure networking and deploy a Docker container on a compatible Linux host.
Intuitive Operator Control
Traditional imaging sonars rely on mechanical scanning to slowly build an image of the environment. The Omniscan takes a different approach—scanning is driven by vehicle motion and processed in real time by Cerulean’s SonarView software. When you add the Omniscan 3D Upgrade Kit to your Omniscan, as the vehicle moves, SonarView dynamically constructs a dense 3D representation of the environment, allowing operators to instantly focus on areas of interest. The result is precise spatial awareness and detailed volumetric imaging, even in low-visibility conditions.
See Structure. Understand Space
Traditional sonars show echoes. The Omniscan when updated with the Omniscan 3D Upgrade Kit, reveals structure.Using a multi-element receive array and motion-based reconstruction, the system generates detailed volumetric sonar data, enabling operators to visualize underwater scenes in true 3D. Structures, terrain, and objects appear with spatial depth, improving interpretation, measurement, and situational awareness.* Real-time 3D point-cloud generation* Detailed volumetric imaging in low or zero visibility* Improved object detection and spatial understanding* Ideal for inspection, mapping, and navigation workflows

Designed for Real-World Operations
The Omniscan, along with the Omniscan 3D Upgrade Kit, is engineered for reliability, flexibility, and seamless vehicle integration. Its modular architecture separates transmit, receive, and processing components, allowing it to adapt to a wide range of ROV and AUV platforms—from compact inspection vehicles to advanced autonomous systems. The system works seamlessly with Cerulean’s SonarView software, enabling real-time visualization, recording, and post-mission analysis. Designed with system integrators in mind, the Omniscan 3D 450 SS provides a compact, Ethernet-based interface for straightforward deployment into any vehicle platform.
