Omniscan 450SS & 450SS BlueBoat
$2,590.00
SKU:
The Omniscan 450 SS is a traditional side-scan sonar with separate transducer and PCBA. It has a tall and very narrow fan beam for high along-track resolution and long range. Omniscan 450SS is available in the standard and BlueBoat form factor.
For scanning both sides simultaneously, order quantity 2. SonarView integrates both devices together as if they were a single system.
Description
The Omniscan 450 SS has a long 150 m range rating and 0.5 degree beam width for high along-track resolution. Cross track resolution is user settable up to 1/1200th of range.
SonarView can generate a traditional “waterfall” image if no other information is available, but if the vehicle can provide GPS position and heading, SonarView can “paint” the full mosaicked image in georeferenced position and including both translational and rotational motion. If the bottom signal from Omniscan is sufficient, or if an external depth signal is provided, SonarView can also render a 3D depth compensated image assuming a flat seabed surface.

SonarView screen capture showing 3D view of sonar data being “painted” on the sea floor. This is not a simulation. It is screen capture of SonarView replaying an actual Omniscan log file.

Omniscan 450SS mounted on a Blue Robotics BlueBoat
IMPORTANT:For the BlueBoat, you must procure the BR-102295 “Cerulean Omniscan 450 SS Integration Kit” from Blue Robotics, which includes the hull mounting brackets.
Side Scanning
The Omniscan 450SS transducer is rated to 300m operating depth. Two units of the Omniscan 450SS can be combined in SonarView for the conventional side-scan application in which both sides are scanned simultaneously.
The electronics module must be mounted in the vehicle’s water tight enclosure.

Note 1: Far Field distance is the range beyond which the beam width specification is valid. At nearer distances the effective beam width gets wider, and sidelobes get larger.
Note 2: This is the nominal theoretical 2-way (transmit and receive) 3dB beam width.
